Sitra visit The Test Site

Soroush Moradi explaining the functionality of the Solar Disk project.

On the 12th of September, Nani Pajunen and Riikka Mäkikoskela from Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund, visited The Test Site to see how the students are currently working with the space and to discuss opportunities for future collaboration. Students from the permaculture garden, the solar disk project and the soap studio presented their work.

Ruby Ying-Ju Lin explaining her open source business model and recipe for eco-soap made from cooking oil.
Tania Malréchauffé and Andrea Gilly presenting the permaculture garden which is ripe with cherry tomatoes, kale, courgette and more!

Later the future of the site was discussed. We looked to next Spring when Riikka Mäkikoskela will run a UWAS (University Wide Art Studies) course at The Site. The course will explore innovative approaches to circular economy and will be directly based outdoors. You can read more about the course here.

We celebrated the progress of The Test Site in just 6 months and looked forward to the new sustainability challenges taking place!
