Aalto University’s sustainable design research group NODUS have prepared a new series of#NODUSTalks for 2018 with topics covering alternative economies, placemaking, mobility, transition design and more. The NODUS group studies design solutions, business models, bottom up initiatives and governance innovations which hold potential to contribute to sustainability. Sustainability transitions, socio-ecological transformations, practice theory, self-organizing systems and futures studies are the central concepts for the group.
The group focuses on infrastructure services including energy, water and transport, new organizational models, and self-organization of issue-driven activist groups.
NODUS research group supports sustainability education through the interdisciplinary Creative Sustainability Masters’ programme at Aalto University.
